Blog Post Reflection

Blogging in my opinion was an interesting experience, there were some ways I learned about myself as a reader, I benefited in lots of ways. Having an online identity was definitely different from talking about your book to a group. There are some things you can say but others you can only write online. Sometimes its easier to have an online identity because the feelings you have might not be taken seriously or understood. It might be embarrassing to say out loud and sometimes it feels safer behind the screen.

As a reader, I learned to find the details in a book and study how much of an impact they made on the writing. From what I learned about myself from keeping a blog was that sometimes it can be harder to understand what people are saying and can find it easier to actually listen to what the people are saying. I benefitted in some ways, one way I benefitted was writing blogs worked my brain and made me think about what the characters are really saying, and thinking. Writing online is definitely different from writing in a notebook because online you can't always write what you're feeling and thinking because of the fact that other people might read your blog and not like or understand what you're saying. When you write in a notebook you feel free to say what you want. Typing can be hard and writing with a pen or pencil can be smoother and quicker to write. I think writing online can be limiting because online you might get judged.

I think that people are definitely not real online. They can be but sometimes can create false accusations about who they are. People create online personalities because their pictures might not be real or who they say they are might not be true. Sometimes teens abuse the freedom they get on Facebook. They can write on peoples walls or comment on peoples photos hurtful sayings that they wouldn't be able to say in real life. So yes people type things they would never be able to say to a persons face. Some girls say "Wow, I love that shirt." thats not something bad but if they chat someone saying "Ew, thats an ugly bathing suit." its a different thing. So either way its a good or bad thing because what the person is saying is a complement or an insult. I don't think I could keep up with a blog, I know I would either forget or just not be able to think of a good idea. Blogs are cool if they have good ideas and the writer actually keeps up with the blog and works on it, but if the idea is bad and writer doesn't keep up with it what's the point of the blog.

Overall, blogging was an experience I won't forget and maybe someday I will have the stamina and time to keep up with a blog.
